What Does it Mean to BE BORN AGAIN? | The Nature of the New Birth

What is Christian regeneration? Jesus taught about being born again but what did he mean? Everything has a nature, and characteristics that make it what it is and not something else. For instance, what if chickens didn’t lay eggs or a bird had no desire to fly? What would we think if fish refused to swim or a rabbit didn’t want to hop? These sound bizarre. We immediately think: Something is wrong! Or, this is not a chicken, bird, fish, or rabbit! The Apostle John uses this type of reasoning to address the problem of phony Christians and false teachers within the congregation. This is a good time for you and me to ask this question: What difference does being born again make in a person’s life? How may we know if we’ve experienced this spiritual transformation? And, how can this help us to defend the gospel and the church against fraud and false teachers? Join Pastor Scott E. Slaughter in this in-depth study of the new birth based upon 1 John 3:4-10.
